Warp and Byte Designs - Artist Statement
Leslie Killeen - Handweaver, Durham, NC

Weaving is but a thread in Leslie's life web. Like with the other threads, it weaves in and out at different levels of intensity. With it, she seeks the artist within herself.

Inspirations often come from nature, where with her husband, she spends a great deal of time, actively enjoying many sports including backpacking, snowboarding, windsurfing, kayaking to name a few.

Constantly intrigued by the interplay of colors, Leslie enjoys creating "one of a kind" designer fabrics. Most recently, she has gotten back into spinning and dyeing fibers to spin and then use for knitting and weaving.

As the loons call in nature, so do her looms call with many ideas.

Mission Statement:
To bring Leslie's artistic goals that brew within to the surface and beyond, letting self and external judgment guide, but not stop the process of her growth.
